Elizabeth Yih

President and Co-Founder

Elizabeth Yih, one of the co-founders of the AIS, serves as the 2009-2010 President of the club.  Having been part of the executive team as a Treasurer in the previous year, Elizabeth brings focus, faith, and integrity into its core leadership.  She comes with over 3 years of experience in the business realm, as well as extensive experience mentoring, leading, and walking alongside UBC students.  Currently Elizabeth is completing her Bachelor of Science degree and specializing in Cellular Biology and Genetics.

Catharina Yih

Treasurer

Catharina Yih, previously the Director of Administration, serves as the Treasurer of AIS.
  Catharina has had several years of experience in dealing with financial transactions, as well as in monitoring cash flow.   She brings her ability to lead, as well as to assist others, to the club, and helps out in major decision making.   Currently, Catharina is majoring in General Science, but is looking to transfer into the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.  

Henry Hwi

Director of Communications Task Force

Henry Hwi, formerly the Director of Videography, serves as AIS's Director of Communications Task Force. An outgoing and quirky individual, Henry brings to the table his knowledge of the tools of the internet to help maintain and streamline the large amount of communique that AIS receives from various contacts. He also helps assist and plan the numerous operations that run within AIS, as well as provide comedic relief whenever stress overwhelms the board of Directors. Henry is currently finishing his Bachelor Degree in Anthropology with a minor in Critical Studies in Sexuality.

Melvin Wong

Director of Administration

Melvin Wong, one of the founding members of AIS, is the Director of Administration. He has had experience in sifting through bureaucratic processes, particularly through his work in Elections Canada for several years. Through his work in the Assembly, he assists in the day-to day running of the Assembly itself and the paperwork involved between AIS and the UBC.  He is currently completing his Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Economics and a minor in Latin.

Curtis Lim

Director of Public Relations and Marketing

Curtis Lim, formerly a member of the Videography Department, serves as AIS's Director of Public Relations and Marketing. An outwardly quiet and reserved individual, Curtis contributes a personable and professional demeanor, as well as years of experience in customer service. Along with assisting in the internal operations of AIS, he reaches externally to connect AIS with other organizations and the student body. Curtis is currently completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Systems.
